Fire damages shed and cars

UPDATE 06/12/19 9.30AM:

A FIRE that damaged several vehicles and a shed in Morley is being treated as suspicious.

A Department of Fire and Emergency Services spokeswoman said police were investigating the incident.

She said there was $75,000 worth of damage.

A WA Police spokeswoman said Strike Force Vulcan officers were currently investigating the suspicious fire.

She urged anyone with information, witnessed the incident or was in the vicinity of the incident to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or make a report online.

EARLIER:

FIRE crews and police officers are responding to a vehicle fire behind Morley Rollerdome.

The fire, which started near Rudloc Road, was reported at 2.35pm on December 5.

Several police cars and a Department of Fire and Emergency Services truck have been patrolling the surrounding area.

A DFES spokeswoman said a shed and some vehicles were on fire.

“By 3.18pm, they had the fire contained and controlled,” she said.

“Basically, it was completely extinguished just after 4pm.

“Eight crews attended and three crews are still there.”

She said as there were still some hot spots around, the cause and extent of the damage were yet to be determined.

A WA police spokesman said officers were investigating the scene after the Arson Squad was advised of the fire..

He said some vehicles were damaged as a result.
