MORLEY firefighter Dan Pohara features in the 2016 Perth Firefighters Calendar with money raised from sales donated to the PMH Foundation supporting the Princess Margaret Hospital burns unit.

The annual fundraising calendar was launched recently at Crown Perth.

Mr Pohara, who features as Mr Feburary, said he decided to take part to help make a difference in the lives of children cared for at PMH.

“It’s for a good cause and I’d never done anything like this before, I wanted to do it while I had the opportunity,” he said.

PMH Foundation chief executive Denys Pearce said the foundation’s long-standing partnership with the Perth Firefighters Calendar had been a success, raising more than $700,000 to help fund cutting-edge equipment and research at the hospital’s burns unit over the past eight years.

“The burns unit at PMH cares for thousands of children from throughout WA each year, so the equipment funded by the Firefighters Calendar really does make a difference for these children, supporting their recovery from a burn injury to ensure they’re able to live full and active lives as much as possible,” he said.

“We are proud to partner with the calendar each year, and are grateful to the 14 firies who have bared their flesh in the name of supporting kids across WA.”

Calendars are $15 from the PMH volunteer’s kiosk or online at www.pmhfoun
