A BAYSWATER yoga instructor with 40 years experience will be running a free program in Morley.

Diana Kudsee (76) will hold gentle yoga classes for residents aged 50 years and over as part of the City of Bayswater’s Fit for Life program.

The six-week program will also include indoor carpet bowls, circuit sessions, tai chi and line dancing at the Morley and Bayswater Community Centres.

Ms Kudsee, who has been an instructor since 1979, said the classes would focus on keeping people moving, making them relax and involve stretching, balance and breathing.

“We have had people come in here saying, ‘I’ll never get down there’ and a month later, they are down on the floor,” she said.

“I am motivated because I know what good it is going to do to people.”

She said she also taught at Ellis House and two retirement villages.

Fit for Life starts in Morley on April 29.

There will be celebratory morning tea events held on June 4 in Morley and June 5 in Bayswater.

To register, call the Bayswater Community Centre on 9271 5198 or the Morley Community Centre on 9276 6108.
