Former teen idol David Cassidy dies aged 67

FORMER teen idol David Cassidy has died in Florida aged 67.

It was reported Cassidy, who was best known for starring as Keith Partridge on The Partridge Family, died of organ failure.

A statement from the Cassidy family to People magazine confirmed the news.

“On behalf of the entire Cassidy family, it is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our father, our uncle, and our dear brother, David Cassidy,” the statement said.

“David died surrounded by those he loved, with joy in his heart and free from the pain that had gripped him for so long. Thank you for the abundance and support you have shown him these many years.”

In the 1970s Cassidy was one of the most famous people in the world, with millions of kids owning lunchboxes and bed spreads bearing his image.
