LIQUOR licensing, creating safe clubs for children and the new Associations Incorporation Act will be topics taught to City of Bayswater-based sport and recreation clubs.

As part of the Blue Ribbon Program, the City of Bayswater will provide free host workshops to help clubs learn from industry leaders.

Mayor Barry McKenna said sporting clubs were run almost exclusively by volunteers, and increasing skills and knowledge were vital to ensure healthy and prosperous clubs.

“Clubs provide people with an avenue to be physically active and involved in their community, so it’s a priority for the City to ensure that our clubs are equipped to succeed,” he said.

The Blue Ribbon Program was funded by the Department of Sport and Recreation and delivered with the City of Swan.

The first workshop will be held February 6 at the Bayswater Civic Centre and focus on KidSport.
