Belinda CiprianoEastern Reporter

THE “Grinch” who stole Christmas might be behind the theft of an old-fashion red pillar-box being used as a Santa letter-box in Bassendean this morning.

The pillar-box, a part of the Town’s Living Advent Calendar was stolen from the Saint Vincent De Paul Society shop on Old Perth Road.

Twenty-four businesses are taking part in the event which allows them to offers specials on their allocated day in December while the pillar-box gave children the opportunity to write letters to Santa.

Mayor John Gangell said he was disappointed with the person or people involved in the act of stealing the pillar-box and hoped it would be found soon.
