Hall and Prior takes over Mertome Village in Bayswater

AGED care group Hall and Prior has taken over the management of the City of Bayswater’s Mertome Retirement Village in Bayswater.

The group planned to deliver the best outcomes for the existing residents who lived in more than 100 units.

Hall and Prior have pledged to invest in refurbishing the residential aged care facility.

Chief executive Graeme Prior said the group were delighted that the City selected them to redevelop the facility.

“We are grateful for the support of the City’s councillors and executive leadership team and we’re very pleased that we share the same vision for Mertome going forward,” he said.

“This will deliver quality care outcomes for older people in Perth’s eastern region, and we are excited to be responsible for Mertome Village.

“At Hall and Prior we specialise in the delivery of high-level permanent care and respite including dementia support.”

Mayor Dan Bull said the decision was made with the “best interests of residents in mind”.

“The City is confident that Hall and Prior is best placed to meet the needs of residents of Mertome Retirement Village now and into the future.”

Hall and Prior will provide a resource team of speech pathologists, occupational therapists, dietitians and clinical nurse specialists.

The group operates 25 homes in Western Australia and New South Wales.
