THE crowd at this year’s Australia Day Celebrations and Fireworks in Bassendean will be treated to a mix of melodies and happy tunes from Perth bands.
They will be joined by other performers including Midvale-based dance group Studio Intensity and samba percussion group the Bassonovas.
Little Belle leader and guitarist Michael Basham, of Mt Hawthorn, said they would play a mix of songs from the ’70s until now,” he said.
Trumpet player Hall, of Como, said his group would be performing happy music with a vintage feel.
He hoped to see about 100,000 people attend the event.
The event’s ambassador and former Bayswater resident Julian Pace, who is the founder of social enterprise Happiness Co, said it was “humbling” to be an ambassador.
“I think it is really inspiring to be able to represent the State and also Australia,” he said.
“I haven’t been to this particular show but I do love fireworks.
“I have always had a big sense of community.
“With all the things that happen in people’s lives and challenges, it is nice to bring people together to celebrate\
Mr Pace said he would be spreading a message to the crowd on the night.
