Healthy eating on school menu

The workshop, aimed at equipping teachers with classroom tips and peer support to run healthy eating programs in their schools, is an initiative of the Child and Adolescent Community Health Service.

The WA Healthy Schools Project provides practical, hands-on sessions about classroom management, health and safety, nutrition, school vegetable gardens and ways to link healthy eating programs into subjects like maths and science.

Teachers could also participate in a practical gardening session with Waste Wise to learn about soils and worm farms, classroom nutrition activity ideas and learn about the Schools Passport Program.
