Heat causing train delays

Laura PondEastern Reporter

TRANSPERTH has warned passengers to expect delays on all train lines this afternoon.

Temporary speed restrictions have been imposed on the network because of the day’s extreme heat, which reached above 42C in some areas of Perth.

Transperth reduces the speed of its trains by 20km/h when temperatures reach 39C and by a further 10km/h when they get to 41C.

Restrictions are lifted once temperatures drop below 39C.
