Cupcake Day, to be held on Monday, August 18, raises money for thousands of sick, injured and neglected animals across the state each year.

During August, participants hold a cupcake day event at their workplace or home with all money raised going to help animals in need.

Chief executive officer David van Ooran said those participating didn’t need to be a master chef, just animal lovers who want to make a difference.

‘Whether you register as an RSPCA cupcake host or decide to take on the tough role as an RSPCA cupcake eater, you’ll be supporting the fight against animal cruelty, helping to keep our inspectors on the road and assisting with the protection we provide through our animal care centre,’ he said.

‘Even though animal cruelty is something people find hard to think about, the fact is that every dollar counts when it comes to our rescue work and we’d encourage anyone who wants to support us to jump on board and become part of this important fundraiser.’
