THE old Morley Blockbuster site will be transformed into a hot pot restaurant in December.

King Hotpot opened in Victoria Park earlier this year and is expanding its franchise.

The restaurant specialises in individual hot pots where people can pick their own ingredients from a sushi train-esque conveyor belt and cook them in soups.

Blockbuster closed in March.

Manager Quy Lam said the business was excited to open at the Morley site which was the “perfect” location and size.

“After opening the first King Hotpot in Victoria Park, we can see there is a demand for hot pot, especially there is no restaurant that offer individual hot pot like ours,” he said.

“Morley is a rich multicultural area, so by us opening in Morley, it gives people more choices place to dine.

“Also, Morley is now a ideal place for family to come and have a meal without worrying about parking and there are many selections of food that can cater for everyone in the family.”

Mr Lam said there were other options other than hot pot such as a sushi train for lunch, noodles and stir-fried vegetables.

The restaurant is expected to open by mid-December.

Customers will receive 20 per cent off at Victoria Park and Morley during the opening week.
