Hundreds of locals flock to Lyric Lane for Maylands Laneway Festival

HUNDREDS of festival goers lit up Lyric Lane in Maylands at the City of Bayswater’s first laneway festival on Saturday night.

About 1000 people enjoyed a beer garden, pop-up bar, live music, buskers, dessert stalls and food from restaurants.

Mayor Dan Bull said the festival provided more support to local businesses.

“The previously overlooked laneway came to life with a pop up bar, live music, and buskers, while surrounding restaurants and eateries were bursting with activity,” he said.

“This is the first time the City has trailed an event of this kind in a laneway, and it was great to offer the community something a bit different while showcasing the amazing local businesses in here in Perth’s inner east.”
