Ms Stankoski is the first person in her family to attend university.

The scholarships are designed to help high-achieving local students who are studying full-time at an Australian university or college and are experiencing financial or social challenges.

The funding will help with education costs such as accommodation, course fees, study-related equipment, textbooks and tutoring.

Senior branch manager Sean Kay said the scholarships were a practical way to make a difference and help residents further their education.
