BUDDING student politicians are participating in a weeklong Youth Parliament program at Parliament House until Friday .
John Forrest Secondary College student Brandon Preap and Ballajura Community College student Matthew Beaven were among 51 high school and university students who took part in the program.
The program provided an opportunity for participants to play the role of a MP and participate in debates.

Brandon said while he wanted to explore politics but did not rule out other career paths.
“I am not sure if I want to choose politics or science as I am just trying out different things,” he said.
Matthew said he was impressed with the activities they participated in during the week.
“It is a great opportunity to sit in Parliament and experience the parliamentary procedures,” he said.
“I want to go through Law first and then maybe go into politics federally.”
