POLICE are investigating a crash early this morning in Kiara where a car was written off after crashing into a tree on Morley Drive East.

St John Ambulance, the Department of Fire and Emergency Services and WA Police were called to the scene at about 12.30am this morning after the yellow Hyundai hatchback hit a tree on the median strip.

A resident who lives nearby said he went to help but saw another car pull up and pull a person from the car wreckage.

When emergency services arrived, a female who was on the scene claimed to be the only person in the car.
