KIARA police have charged three people for allegedly stealing a car in Morley overnight.

Police arrested two men and a woman at 12.40am following a car chase involving an allegedly stolen white Volkswagen Golf on Beechboro Road North.

The male driver is currently in Royal Perth Hospital.

The other male and female passengers were charged with stealing a motor vehicle and two counts of stealing.

Officer-in-charge Mark Stoneman said police would allege the male driver was also connected to burglaries in Morley and Caversham.

“Once he has been interviewed, he will be charged with the Caversham matters as well,” he said.

“He has so far been charged with stealing motor vehicle, reckless driving, fail to stop, breaching bail, some stealing and burglary offences but he is being investigated for several others.”

Senior Sergeant Stoneman said no court dates had been set.

He said he had been engaging with the administrator of the Caversham Neighbourhood Watch and Crime Reports Facebook page, where residents had posted about burglaries, anti-social behaviour and stolen vehicles.
