BASSENDEAN business owner Cassandra Tomeo has found a permanent home for her online dress hire store for plus size women.

Runway Regime is opening at Hawaiian’s Bassendean on October 19 after Ms Tomeo (28) won the Town of Bassendean’s The Big Pitching Event in June.

Ms Tomeo started the store, which stocks dresses in sizes 14 to 22 and delivers Australia wide, in April.

A launch was held on October 16, attended by Ms Tomeo’s family and friends, Hawaiian representatives and Bassendean Mayor Renee McLennan.

Ms Tomeo said she started her store after being frustrated with her shopping experiences and hearing others also struggling to find dresses.

“I’m incredibly grateful for this opportunity that will not only help grow my business…but also fill an important gap in the market,” she said.

“I created Runway Regime to save women time and money and empower them with choice.

“I believe that women of all shapes and sizes deserve to feel beautiful and comfortable in their own skin.”

Hawaiian shopping centres general manager Scott Greenwood said the centre was pleased to support up-and-coming local talent and hoped locals would be inspired by Ms Tomeo’s idea.
