Lockridge Community Garden Vandalised

Julian WrightEastern Reporter

VANDALS have targeted a Lockridge community garden for the second time in four weeks.

Kate Poll posted a picture of the destruction of the garden on the corner of Arbon Way and Diana Crescent onto a Facebook community page on March 19.

The photo showed the wooden frames of about three garden beds ripped apart.

People commented on the photo, expressing their outrage over the vandalism, with some suggesting those that caused the damage should fix it.

“If anyone gets caught doing this they should be made to fix it,” Fiona Stirling said.

Claire Bains agreed.

“Maybe the ones trashing it should be invited to come and get involved so they care about the work that goes into it,” she said.

Tracey Miles said “nothing was safe now a days.”

The Eastern Reporter revealed on February 24 the garden, established in 2005, had been targeted.

Steve McKinnon said it was a regular occurrence.
