“She will be meeting with business leaders of Maltese descendants who have done well in their chosen fields, and Anna and Jordan (former My Kitchen Rules contestants),” he said.

“The members are very excited because obviously someone of her importance coming to our club is a very exciting event.

“There were a few club members that have met her and they all say she was a very approachable, humble and a people’s person.”

Mr Cauchi said the President will visit Fremantle prior to the event in Bassendean.

“In the early ‘50s, a lot of child migrants were sent to Australia from England and Malta,” he said.

“The children were orphans or children who maybe came from single parents, so there is a child migrant monument down at Fremantle.”

He said he would be on holidays and was “sad” to miss the visit.
