Many remember war sacrifices

The Returned Service League’s Eastern Regional Sub Branch president Ashley Vince, who spoke of the importance of the day, conducted the ceremony, and St Michael’s Primary School students gave a reading, that was followed by the minute’s silence and raising of the flag.

Bassendean Mayor John Gangell said it was an important day for all.

‘It’s vitally important to ensure we remember the ending of the world war and the sacrifice made by so many civilians that have given us the privileges and freedoms we all take for granted each day,’ he said.
