Maylands: Fo Guang Shan Temple invites community to Harmony Week event

FO Guang Shan Temple in Maylands hopes to attract 300 people from different ethnic communities to its annual Harmony Week event.

The temple and the Buddha’s Light International Association of WA (BLIAWA) is hosting a vegetarian lunch and an afternoon tea meditation session called Taste of Harmony.

Co-ordinator Suk Ling Chang said the association aimed to achieve its objectives of promoting peace, harmony and mutual understanding at the event.

“We are devoted to organising various events and programs for residents and different ethnic groups to participate in WA community,” she said.

“Through this program, we invited a variety of ethnic groups to exchange and share their own tea cultures.

“We not only convey the message of harmony among diverse communities but also encourage more and more local communities and residents to try different tea drinks and understand other ethnics’ culture.”
