They are part of the City of Bayswater’s Art on Eighth project, where local artists rotate their work on several planter boxes.

Anderson, who has been an artist and photographer for more than 30 years, said the artwork was five years old and was part of her graduation exhibition at Tafe.

“In my three years at Tafe, I explored all sorts of things through the different units,” she said.

“It was a way of combining photography and art and trying to come up with something unique.”

Anderson said it felt fantastic to have her artwork along her local cafe strip.

“I love Eighth Avenue but now I love it even more,” she said.

“Over the last couple of days I’ve had friends and family having a look.”

Mayor Dan Bull said art was an important part of the community as it provided an outlet for creativity.

“Each artist featured as part of the Art on Eighth Project has a different story to tell,” he said.

“I encourage everyone in our community to pay Maylands a visit and check out the works over a coffee.”
