Maylands man charged with slew of offences following police search

A MAYLANDS man has been charged with a series of offences relating to drugs and driving following a traffic stop yesterday evening.

Around 6.30pm, police stopped the driver of a Volkswagen Caddy sedan which bore stolen registration plates on Roe Highway near Morrison Road in Midvale.

When the police searched the vehicle, they allegedly found approximately 9.5g of Methylamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

The 37-year-old was charged with possessing of a prohibited drug (Methylamphetamine) with the intent to sell or supply and possessing drug paraphernalia with a prohibited drug or plant.

He was also charged with driving a vehicle with a forged, replica or false plate, using an unlicensed vehicle on the road, having no authority to drive and possessing stolen or unlawfully obtained property.

He will appear in Midland Magistrates Court today.
