Maylands: million dollar haircut for Lotto winner

Staff WriterEastern Reporter

A MAYLANDS man turned a haircut into a million dollar Lotto win.

The bachelor was on his way for a trim when he decided to call in and try his luck with a Wednesday Lotto ticket.

It became the State’s fourth division one win this week, and saw him win $1 million.

“One minute I’m making a quick trip to get my hair cut, the next I’m a millionaire,” the man said.

“I guess I took a chance on a lottery ticket and the results speak for themselves.”

The winning ticket was purchased from Causeway Newsagency in Victoria Park.

“The first thing I’ll do is buy my first pad after years of renting,” he said.

“It won’t be a fancy million dollar home, just something comfortable that I know will be mine,” he added.

“I can also pull the pin on work much earlier now – I reckon I’ve shaved about 10 years off my retirement plan.”

WA’s tally of division one Lotto winners for the year has now reached 21.
