Mirrabooka hammer attack causes neck and spinal injuries

POLICE have charged a man for allegedly smashing a windscreen with a hammer leaving the victim with neck and spinal injuries in Mirrabooka.

The 25-year-old Darch man allegedly broke the windscreen after a heated traffic incident on April 24.

The man was allegedly driving along Appleblossom Drive when he swerved in front of the victim’s car and made a U-turn.

The victim had to break heavily to avoid the car and sounded his horn.

The man allegedly swore at the victim, damaged the rear side and smashed the windscreen of the vehicle with a hammer.

A police spokesman said the man was charged with criminal damage, endanger life, health or safety of a person, dangerous driving occasioning bodily harm and failing to stop after a traffic incident.

He had been refused bail and is due to appear in the Perth Magistrates Court on Saturday.
