Kristie LimEastern Reporter

FORMER Indonesian Idol finalist Michael Jakarimilena mixed entertainment with education at a concert held at John Septimus Roe Anglican Community School in Mirrabooka.

Jakarimilena, also known as Mikki J in Indonesia, encouraged more than 700 students to sing along to his Indonesian hits and embrace the language and culture on August 9.

His vocals reflect those of people from his birth place, Papua in Indonesia.

He has performed at secondary schools with Indonesian programs in WA, ACT and Victoria.
