A MORLEY couple is celebrating 24 years of brightening their street with a Christmas light display this month.

John and Fay Roe have set up 120,000 LED lights outside their property on Marriot Way.

Mr Roe said the display included a 3m dome with a 2m rotating ball of lights on top, tracer lights running up a 27m mast and a pathway for people to walk through.

“(It took) three weeks this year as I ended up in hospital and had my big left infected toe removed, half way through putting them up, friends help finished the set up off, I am grounded from climbing and much walking,” he said.

“There are many things to see around the gardens with waterfall LED lights cascading down and canaries actually sing and whistling.”

Mr Roe said there were more than 7500 people who enjoyed his display each year.

“We never have any problem with neighbours or the community, many local regulars come night after night,” he said.

Mr Roe said he previously raised $62,500 for Princess Margaret Hospital.

The display will run until December 27.
