Morley: police charge man over alleged pork armed robbery

A 42-year-old Morley man has been charged after he allegedly used an axe in an armed robbery on Saturday morning.

Police allege the man lit a fire inside a house on Morley Drive.

They say he then walked to nearby shopping centre armed with an axe.

He allegedly threatened staff before leaving with a quantity of pork.

The Morley man has been charged with criminal damage by fire and aggravated armed robbery.

He was due to appear in Perth Magistrates Court yesterday.
