My Christmas: Professor Lyn Beazley

Keren BellosEastern Reporter

Professor Lyn Beazley

What do you love about Christmas?

It is a chance to catch up with family, enjoy the WA summer and even do one of those jigsaws and read those books I haven’t opened all year.

What’s your favourite Christmas memory?

Always times with family.

As my husband’s origins are Polish, we usually have our main family meal on Christmas eve, then go out to find the first star, by which time Santa Claus always seems to have visited.

How are you celebrating this year?

With my daughter and son-in-law, plus my two granddaughters – and their dog Bindi – who live in Perth.

Sharing meals, going for swims, opening presents, trying to win at Scrabble (a rare event).

What’s the best gift you’ve received?

Probably the early present of our grandson Charlie, who was due on Christmas eve a few years ago but in the end arrived early on December 12th – even better so we can celebrate twice!
