City of Swan acting chief executive Steven Tan said the existing playground needed fixing with the replacement finished in June.
He said the playground, which is one of 178 in the City, cost about $125,000 as part of the playground replacement program.
‘The City conducts a yearly survey of the condition of playgrounds to ensure replacements occur where needed,’ Mr Tan said.
‘The playground was due for replacement and the City sought the views of local children on what equipment they would like in their playground.
‘Ideas for the playground were discussed with school children during two workshops and children voted on their favourite equipment and helped design the playground.’
The playground is suited to children of all abilities and features climbing walls, a tepee carousel, basket swing and talk tubes among other activities.
