The existing three bin lids will be changed to meet the latest Australian standards with a State Government grant of $713,760.
The bin lids will be become yellow for co-mingled recycling, red for general waste and green for green waste.
Mayor Sylvan Albert said these distinct and uniform lid colours were proven to increase recycling rates.
