Morley Library officially opened this week.

THE new Morley Library was officially opened this week at its new location at the Les Hansman Community Centre.

Some $776,815 works were completed to get the building ready and more than 40,000 books and other items were transferred from its Morley Galleria site.

The relocated library has been in use since May.

German supermarket Aldi is set to move into the vacated site at the Galleria.

The community centre is likely to be home for the library for about five years while long-term options were explored.

The Derrick Ernst Neighbourhood Centre, currently still in the Galleria, is set to move at the end of the month also to make way for Aldi.

Morley Library will be open Monday to Thursday 9am to 8pm, Friday 9am to 5.30pm and Saturday 9am to 12pm.
