No more off-street parking bays for Hyde Retirement Village residents

THE Town of Bassendean has voted to hold off increasing off-street parking bays for Hyde Retirement Village residents.

Following an Annual General Meeting (AGM) on October 10, residents decided to accept the two emergency bays being reallocated as additional bays and to take no further action in increasing off-street bays at this time.

The reallocation of the two bays was not subject to any capital expenses.

In April, the council resolved to have officers investigate the feasibility of improving parking at the village.

According to an officer’s report, it was possible to achieve seven additional off-road bays at the cost of $59,750.

Residents who attended the AGM concluded they did not support renovations that required capital expenses.
