AT just the age of four, Nollamara boy Jayce Vassiliou showed his pool safety skills in saving two kids from drowning in a month.

The first incident happened during a swimming lesson in early November where Jayce spotted his two-year-old friend in trouble.

“He was trying to get in the big pool and I saw him and I picked him up in the arms,” Jayce said.

But it was the second incident where he saved his cousin Kourtney (5) in the swimming pool at Crown two weeks later which hit close to home.

“She was in the pool and I saw the bubbles and I picked her up under her arm,” he said

“I pulled her and lifted her up to the steps.

“She started coughing and crying.

“I went up to grandmother and I told her what happened.”

A few days later, Kourtney and her mother went to Jayce’s house to give him a present and show her appreciation.

Despite his lifesaving efforts, Jayce said he did not want to be a lifesaver when he grew up but a policeman.

Jayce’s mother Zoey said she was proud of her son.

“It is rewarding to know how special he is and I want him to know how great what he’s done is,” she said.
