Noranda man (28) charged over telecommunication sites fires

ARSON Squad detectives have charged a Noranda man for setting telecommunication sites on fire in the eastern suburbs.

In November, detectives sought public assistance regarding deliberate fires at sites including Malaga, Morley and Dianella.

As a result of the investigation, detectives charged the 28-year-old man today for allegedly breaking into the sites between July and September, 2016.

The total value of the damage was about $450,000.

He was charged with seven counts of criminal damage by fire, seven counts of burglary and one count of criminal damage.

He is due to appear before the Midland Magistrates Court on May 12.
