Open garden of many attractions

‘When I am out in nature, it feels like time stands still and everything is completely at peace,’ she said.

As part of the Open Gardens Australia scheme to promote the enjoyment, knowledge and benefits of gardens, Ms Haydar will host open days on February 15 and 16, from 10am to 4.30pm, and February 19 from 11.30am to 4.30pm, in her garden at 3 Cheviot Place, Dianella. .

In addition to a small entry fee, market stalls selling food, craft and a massage relaxation tent will be available to raise funds for Princess Margaret Hospital’s Radio Lollipop. Since she bought her home in 1964, Ms Haydar said the garden had evolved to feature winding boardwalks, a sunken garden, fountain, pool, waterfall and a large pagoda.
