Outdoors October: peak body encouraging West Aussies to get outside

Greig JohnstonEastern Reporter

WESTERN Australia’s peak recreation group Outdoors WA is encouraging people to get outside this month, with Outdoors October.

With winter finally behind us and spring in the air, West Aussies can now begin take advantage of the enormous number of opportunities to get outside.

Outdoors WA executive officer Jamie Bennett said the initiative was about celebrating the outdoors and the health benefits it provides.

“It is about linking together the hundreds of people that work in the outdoor industry and the bushwalking club down the corner, the paddling club on the river or the local cycling or mountain biking club and the wider population,” Mr Bennett said.
