In December last year, Planning Minister John Day called for community feedback on the future of 11ha of land on two sites in the town centre.
Residents filled the Town of Bassendean council chambers at the last meeting of 2015 with questions about the project and turned to the online survey in droves with their ideas.
It is envisaged the land would host a mix of residential dwellings and community facilities.

READ NOWLandCorp chief operations officer Dean Mudford said the response to the survey was “overwhelming” and the most successful one the company had conducted in any community.
“Another engagement opportunity will be a forum for the community to meet the project team, hear from other partners and have their say, which will occur in late February,” Mr Mudford said.
“This forum will also provide the community with the opportunity to receive the results of the survey as well as learn more about the other key considerations for the town centre sites under investigation.”
Mr Mudford said concept plan options would be developed after the forum that the community could also comment on.
The survey is open until Friday, January 22.
