Parking fines on the decline

Figures revealed the Town issued 149 parking fines last year with a total monetary value of more than $10,000. In 2015, until December 15, 113 fines were issued, totalling $7610.

Chief executive Bob Jarvis said there was no paid parking in the Town.

“All parking provided by the Town is free of charge but there are restrictions such as permit only areas, timed restrictions and no parking areas throughout the Town,” he said.

He said the number of parking bays provided by the Town was not currently available.
