Perth cyclist shot in the leg with an arrow

A CYCLIST is recovering in hospital after being shot in the leg with an arrow.

The 31-year-old was riding along Sturtridge Road in Lockridge when an arrow flew into his right thigh.

A local resident called an ambulance and the man was rushed to Royal Perth Hospital to undergo surgery.

Police said the incident happened at around 9.40pm on Wednesday.

A spokeswoman for WA Police said officers were investigating the incident.

“A 31-year-old man received injuries after being struck in the leg by an arrow,” she added.

“He then sought assistance from a resident on the street, who called emergency services.

“The man was conveyed to RPH where he underwent surgery.”
