Perth eastern suburbs get behind bushfire appeals

THE local community is rallying behind fundraisers to support people and animals affected by devastating bushfires.

Children-run cake stalls have popped up around Perth and local businesses are also doing their bit to raise money in response to bushfires raging in New South Wales and Victoria.

Leederville-based Nestle & Porter is hosting a huge raffle, offering more than $55,000 worth of prizes gifted by Perth event businesses.

Each $50 donation to the Australian Red Cross provides a raffle entry.

Bayswater art school Milktooth is hosting children’s workshops on January 17 and 18, and a fundraising exhibition, with money donated to the NSW Wildlife Information, Rescue and Education Service (WIRES).

Rotary Australia is also collecting donations at https://rawcs.org.au/.
