Perth fashionista jailed for ex-boss theft

AN accomplished Perth fashion designer who stole almost $163,000 from her former employer has been jailed for two years and eight months.

Chaynika Sethi, 35, worked part time for a decade as a practice manager at a Maylands physiotherapy clinic while building up her fashion label and was trusted with with paying expenses and distributing wages, but plundered the clinic’s main transaction account over a 21-month period.

Sethi, who claimed her ex-boss transferred the cash to her as hush money for squeezing her breast, was sentenced in the District Court of WA on Friday.
