Perth shark warning: two people injured close to shore

THERE is a shark warning for northern metro beaches after two people suffered minor leg injuries while wading at Waterman’s Bay yesterday evening.

The incident happened about 5.20pm, with authorities issuing the alert to cover the area between Sorrento and Trigg.

The Shark Smart website reported the incidents occurred minutes apart and were reported to water police as a possible “shark interaction”.

The victims did not report species or size.

They left the beach and were treated by a doctor.

What to do

  • Adhere to beach closures advised by Local Government Rangers or Surf Life Saving WA.
  • Take additional caution in the Watermans Bay area.
