Perth weather: wet, wild and windy night… again

PERTH endured another wild winter’s eve overnight with plenty of rain and winds topping 90km/h.

Bickley was the wettest area receiving 43.8mm of rain.

The city received 19mm and Jandakot 23.2mm.

On the unprotected Rottnest Island, wind gusts had cracked 90km/h by 1.30am, while on the mainland Ocean Reef hit 87km/h just after 2.30am.

In the city, winds neared 50km/h at 2am and in Mandurah, gusts of 74km/h struck at 1.33am.

The rain will continue today with 20-30mm predicted to fall and a possible storm.

We’re headed for a top of 17C.

It’s set to be a clear but chilly weekend, however, with no rain expected on Saturday, a top of 17C and the chance of a frosty morning with a minimum 3C.

The fine weather is expected to continue into Sunday with a maximum 20C.
