Plant keeps the volume down

Julian WrightEastern Reporter

Twenty-two Winchester Place, Ballajura, residents signed a petition about noise concerns from the 28 Vale Street, Malaga, business, and submitted it to the City of Swan in November 2015.

The petition alleged that the loading and unloading of skip bins in the early hours of the morning was causing unreasonable noise.

An environmental health officer undertook initial sound level readings and concluded that the activity would result in unreasonable noise levels at the nearest residential properties if carried out after 10pm.

The business operators agreed to cease activity at 9pm.

At the January 20 council meeting, councillors moved a motion to note the information contained in the report and that the petition signatories had been notified of action taken.
