MORE than 500 volunteers are needed to help feed the hungry on Friday October 21.
That date is Plate4Plate Day, and the volunteers will help create more than 100,000 dry packaged meals for people in need.
The massive event will be held at Perth Oval, with people spending either a morning or afternoon shift measuring out meals in a high-energy, fun-filled community event.

READ NOWVolunteers will be asked to help set up and take down packaging stations and equipment, fill bins with raw ingredients and scoop ingredients into meal bags.
They will also weigh and seal the bags, box and stack them on pallets, and load the pallets and equipment onto a truck.
The meals will be provided to vulnerable people in the Philippines, where people are still dealing with the devastating effects of the 2014 typhoon.
This initiative brings together three groups dedicated to fighting hunger: Stop Hunger Now, Zambrero and Foodbank.
Last year on Plate4Plate Day in Perth volunteers packaged 55,000 meals, distributed around the entire state.
