Police appeal after Perth sex attack

POLICE are appealing for information after a woman was sexually assaulted near a Perth train station.

The woman was walking near Claisebrook Train Station on Saturday night when a man approached her and sexually assaulted her.

Police said the woman managed to strike the man a number of times before he fled the scene.

The attack happened near Edward Street and Claisebrook Road at about 11pm.

The victim, a woman in her 30s, continued home and reported the incident to police early on Sunday morning.

A spokesman for WA Police said: “Sex assault squad detectives are seeking information regarding an incident in East Perth on Saturday night.

“The offender is described as male, fair skinned, aged in his 40s, and had long dark hair.”
