Police charge Mirrabooka man after knife fight

POLICE charged a 47-year-old Mirrabooka man after a knife fight on Saturday night.

It was alleged about 5.25pm the man went to a house of family members in Lambourne Retreat in Mirrabooka with his 24-year-old female partner.

An altercation then occurred between himself and a 19-year-old male and female in the house.

The man, who was allegedly armed with a knife, threatened the younger man and woman and the altercation continued onto the road.

It is then believed the 19-year-old man armed himself with a machete, with the 47-year-old receiving an injury to his arm.

He was taken to Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital by ambulance.

He was charged with threaten to kill, going armed in a way that may cause fear and breach of bail with a bedside court hearing yesterday.
