POLICE are searching for a woman who fled police after she and a male driver abandoned an allegedly stolen Hyundai hatchback at Galleria Shopping Centre in Morley this afternoon.

About 2.15pm, police tried to stop the Hyundai on Broun Avenue in Embleton.

The male driver failed to stop and accelerated away.

A short time later, the Hyundai rammed into two police cars on Walter Road near the Embleton Avenue intersection.

This damaged both cars, which were towed away.

The male driver and female occupant fled into the centre.

Police apprehended the male driver.

A police spokeswoman said the female had left the centre and police were continuing inquiries into her whereabouts.
